AUGUST 2009

Saturday 8th August ~ CERVIA Re-Opening
Proposed opening date of steam tug CERVIA - for the first time in nearly 10 years the public will be welcomed aboard S.T. CERVIA, one of the major exhibits of the Ramsgate Museum, to see work in progress on the restoration of the tug...

Thursday 20th August ~ 7 Day RAMSGATE ARTS FESTIVAL
Ramsgate Arts Festival visits the Clock House. With an audio/visual insight into Thanet's cultural future.

Saturday 23rd August ~ CERVIA's Engines in Steam!
For the first time since 1999, it is hoped that the 1,0000 H.P. main engine will be running on steam. We aim to allow the public to witness a unique experience of a ships engine room in full swing. This ambitious restoration project has yet to be confirmed, so please keep an eye on our news updates.

Sat 19th, Sun30th & Mon 31st August
..Grand Steam Vintage Fair in the Pier Yard.
A first for the town in recent years, well known 'steam' showman Trevor Williams will be bringing his steam fair to the town for a grand 3 day festival in support of the Ramsgate Museum. This event, provisionally approved by Thanet District Council, has still to gain final consent, so please check here for developments...

SEPTEMBER 2009

Sat 5th & Sun 6th September ~ CERVIA Steaming days

Sat 12th & Sun 13th September ~ Autumn Museum Fair
Plus CERVIA Steaming Days.

Monday 21st September ~ Proposed 'tow-out' of CERVIA.
Proposed date for the 'tow-out' of steam tug CERVIA to the Ramsgate Harbour Slipways for essential repair work.

...End September ~ Smeatons Dry-Dock
Smeatons Dry-Dock dividing wall to be removed by specialist contractors (subject to all nec. consents).

OCTOBER 2009

...End October ~ CERVIA returns
Steam Tug CERVIA returns to her new berth in Smeatons Dry-Dock.

DECEMBER 2009

Sat 12th to Sun 20th December ~ Christmas Festival
Christmas Festival in the Clock House Museum, with a special fair in the Pier Yard 18th & 19th December.

JANUARY 2010

Sat 2nd & Sun 3rd January ~ Open Days at Preston
Steam up and open days featuring historic beam engines, a railway, traction engines and more.
10.00 am - 5.00 pm each day.
